During years of its operation, BSO Group has significantly improved water and effluent management. First of all the efforts were directed to minimise water abstraction. Decrease in water intake (both surface and borehole) has been achieved through gradual optimisation of water consumption. All sugar factories within the Group closed their process water circuits, technical conditions of boreholes and drinking water installations were improved and potential leaks  eliminated. Additionally, devices cleaning transport water of excess of organic substances have been purchased, which was highly beneficial for the waste water treatment plants.
