One of the definitions of Business Social Responsibility refers to the type of actions taken by a company, as an attempt to meet the needs of its customers, while taking into consideration the expectations of other parties: employees, suppliers and the local community. An increasing number of companies are paying attention to importance of responsible functioning, within the framework of society at large. Taking into consideration their significant role as employers and producers of goods, companies are increasingly eager to share the profits they earn, as well as their knowledge and experience, with those that are in the greatest need. An important part of ethical business operation is commitment in building good relationships between the employer and employees, as well as between the employees themselves. The activities of an ethically operating business also include involvement in charity programs, educational-social projects and pro-environmental initiatives.
As part of charity programs, we support local orphanages, not only offering financial assistance, but also by providing patronage and assistance in organizing cultural exchange with schools and centres in Great Britain. We are also active in pursuing the adoption of the CEFS (European Sugar Industry Employer Association) Code of Behaviour, i.e. ethical standards pertaining to personnel activities for all affiliated producer organizations.
